Linaje del Pago presents Arrorró, a sweet wine that pays tribute to the female memory of the Canary Islands.

The presentation brought together institutional representatives, professionals from the wine sector, the media, as well as friends and family of the winery, in an evening that went beyond the strictly oenological to become a cultural and emotional encounter.

Music, tradition and emotion as a common thread

The event opened with the participation of the Agrupación Folclórica Oroval, who offered a sample of their show Ayanto, an artistic proposal that recovers ancient work songs from a contemporary perspective. This first block set the tone for an evening dedicated to oral tradition and intergenerational links.

One of the most emotional moments came with the performance of the arrorró, a traditional Canarian song, by Silvia Lemus, wife of the winery’s director, José María Gómez. Her intimate and evocative performance connected the audience with the emotional essence that gives the wine its name and meaning.

A wine made from family roots

During the presentation, Linaje del Pago shared the process and the story behind Arrorró. This wine is made from grapes raisined on the vine itself, selected and separated by hand by the women of the family, reinforcing the artisanal and symbolic character of the project.

The white varieties used come from vineyards located in Güímar, specifically in the areas of Las Dehesas and Los Pelados, between 700 and 1,200 metres above sea level, under the protection of the DOP Islas Canarias. The red version, on the other hand, is made with grapes under the DOP Tacoronte-Acentejo.

After the harvest, the grapes are taken to the winery’s estate in Vilaflor, at 1,200 metres above sea level, where they are subjected to a traditional sun-drying process, with manual turning, until they reach the optimum point of raisining.

A choral project with its own identity

The winery also wanted to highlight the work of the entire team involved in the project, as well as the work of the oenologist Pedro Rodríguez, responsible for the technical interpretation of the wine, and the Irübi studio, in charge of the design and visual identity of Arrorró, conceived as an extension of the emotional story of the wine.

The event concluded with a gastronomic cocktail prepared by chef Braulio Simancas, who brought a culinary dimension to an evening in which wine, music and culture were intertwined as an expression of identity.

Wine as memory and gratitude

With Arrorró, Linaje del Pago reaffirms its commitment to wines with soul, linked to the territory and collective memory, and to an oenology that transcends the product to become a story. In the words of its director, José María Gómez, “Arrorró is a way of saying: thank you for everything“.

A wine that is not only drunk, but also remembered.
